U.S. Bicycle Route System Expands to 5,616 Miles
May 10, 2013 Missoula, Montana — Adventure Cycling Association and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) today announced that AASHTO's Special Committee on U.S. Route Numbering has approved a new section of U.S. Bicycle Route 45 in Minnesota, U.S. Bike Route 76 in Missouri, and realignments for U.S. Bike Route 76 in Kentucky. With these new approvals, the U.S. Bicycle Route System (USBRS) now encompasses 5,616 miles of official U.S. Bike Routes in 10 states: Alaska, Kentucky, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Virginia. Svein Tuft Wins San Luis Time Trial
January 24, 2013 Svein Tuft time trialed to the first international victory for ORICA-GreenEDGE during the Australian outfit’s second season. The eight time Canadian national time trial champion set a scorching speed of 22:14 over 19.2 kilometres. Tuft edged out Leandro Messineo (San Luis Somos Todos) by seven seconds to win stage four of Tour de San Luis. Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) rounded out the stage podium. Read More
