Possible New Indoor/Outdoor Mountain Biking Facility at Wellington Hills County Park in Woodinville

June 21, 2012

Sent to Bicycle Paper from Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance

Snohomish County Parks and Recreation has acquired 100 acres in Woodinville as the future site of the Wellington Hills County Park, and is in the process of creating a Master Plan for park development. We're excited to say that in addition to sports fields and open spaces, mountain bike trails and an indoor mountain bike park are included in the Preliminary Master Plan.

There would be a fee for use of the indoor park, proposed as a 60,000-square-foot indoor space complete with terrain park, pump tracks, an airbag, and more. Outdoors, and free of charge, there will be outdoor trails for mountain biking and cyclocross races.

The Council needs to hear the message that the inclusion of mountain biking is a very high priority to the public. You can help to ensure the bike park is included in the Park Master Plan by contacting members of the Snohomish County Council, regardless of where you live.
