Cavanaugh Roubaix Fondo

June 1, 2012

Arlington, Wash. - The Cavanaugh Roubaix is a “hard mans” road ride in the Arlington area that includes chip seal, a gravel mountain pass, and picturesque views that caters to both recreational riders and competitive racers.

Though only 60 miles in length, the brutality of the road surfaces and elevation changes makes it feel like much more. There are points awarded along the route for both climbers and sprinters and several mandatory regrouping locations to ensure accountability, and rider support. The ride is supported by SAG vehicles along the route. The ride starts and finishes at the Berg’s house and is followed by a BBQ/potluck and awards ceremony. The route is marked, and maps are given out prior to start.

WHEN: July 1, 2012 @ 09:30 a.m. (ride departs at 10 a.m.)

WHERE: The Berg’s – 30 194 ST NW, Arlington, WA 98223

BIKE: Road or cyclocross bike with durable road tires

BRING: Several water bottles, tube/patch kit, meat for BBQ & potluck dish, and BYOB

COST: $5.00 event donation – covers fuel and awards
