Taylor Phinney Just Misses Bronze in Olympic Men's Road Race
July 30, 2012 London, U.K. (April 28, 2012) - Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo./BMC Racing) finished fourth in Saturday’s 250-kilometer Olympic road race around London. With the dramatic backdrop of Buckingham Palace, Phinney just missed in the bunch sprint for the bronze finishing just off the wheel of Norway’s Kristoff Alexander, who finished third. Alexandr Vinokurov (KAZ) took the win and Rigoberto Uran (COL) silvered just over a minute earlier after slipping off the front in the race’s final kilometers. Read More

MFG Cyclocross Announces 2012 Dates

Final Field Confirmed for 2012 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah
July 11, 2012 Salt Lake City – The 2012 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah professional cycling stage race will feature a total field of 17 teams from around the globe, including a record seven teams from the Tour de France. The UCI WorldTour No. 4-ranked team, Omega Pharma-QuickStep, accepted an invitation to race, and is expected to bring the two-time Tour of Utah champion Levi Leipheimer, who attended high school in Salt Lake City. The final field represents teams registered from nine countries, including two teams from the Netherlands and one team from China, all three first-time entries. Other countries include Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the United States. Read More

BC Bike Race - Day 7
July 9, 2012 The BC Bike Race closed at a party on the finishing line at Whistler’s Olympic Plaza lawn with the sunshine reflecting off the remaining summer snow of the surrounding mountain peaks. As riders crossed the line, getting hugs and medals, their tears mixed with the sweat and dust caked on their faces from the fastest final stage ever at the BCBR. As the riders lazed around in the lawn enjoying their post-race euphoria, stories of the week and more hugs were shared between people who had never met a week earlier. Read More

Day 5 of BC Bike Race 2012: Sechelt to Langdale
July 6, 2012 With hump-day out of the way, riders got to touch their tires to classic Sunshine Coast singletrack on the 40km course from Sechelt to the BC Ferry terminal of Langdale. With over 1,400 meters of climbing, earning those turns was no easy task but the rewards included the one-of-a-kind 7km singletrack descent down "HWY 102" and "Sidewinder." Through the newest piece of singletrack that took two years to build, riders couldn’t help but give a yell to the forest as their bodies and bikes danced and weaved through the woods. July 3, 2012 Campell River hosted day two of the BC Bike Race under the wettest conditions in race history. With a police escort, 525 spirited racers left from the Robert Ostler Park under a steady drizzle of rain. After a neutral start the police escort pulled aside and an opening road section spread the field out before knobby tires turned on to the first trail of the day, Lost Frog. Read More
