Superior Glass Track Classic at Burnaby Velodrome a Huge Success
November 12, 2012 The November 9-11 long weekend saw the first large race event at the Burnaby Velodrome for the 2012-13 season. The Superior Glass Track Classic attracted over ninety riders from Alberta, Washington state, Vancouver island, Kamloops, and the lower mainland. There were competitors as young as nine and into their 60’s. Riders competed in nine endurance mass start races and two sprint disciplines over the three days. Read More

Colorado High School Cycling League Raids North Fruita Desert
November 1, 2012 Fruita, Colo. – For the first time in its three-year history, the Colorado High School Cycling League headed to the far western end of the state to test themselves at the famous 18 Road trails just north of the bike infused town of Fruita. League officials worked closely with BLM Land Managers to create a unique course that accommodated all recreational users in the area to complete another fantastic season of racing. USA Pro Challenge Brings in Estimated $99.6 Million
October 18, 2012 Denver, Colo. – The 2012 USA Pro Challenge, the toughest professional cycling race in the U.S., reached attendance numbers of more than 1 million over the course of seven days, Aug. 20-26, as fans turned out to watch the action-packed, heart-pounding racing. After traveling to 12 towns for the official stage starts and finishes, and passing through many other notable cities along the way, the estimated economic impact of the race to the State of Colorado is $99.6 million, according to a study done by IFM North America, a global sports research firm. USA Cycling to Enforce USADA Suspensions
October 11, 2012 Colorado Springs, Colo. (October 11, 2012) — USA Cycling has been notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that five U.S. riders — Tom Danielson, George Hincapie, Levi Leipheimer, Christian Vande Velde and David Zabriskie — have each accepted six-month suspensions, effective September 1, 2012, as a result of their testimony in the Lance Armstrong investigation. USA Cycling will enforce these sanctions and is currently reviewing the impact of the sanctions on historical results. Read More
