Death Ride Tour Returns for 5th Year
March 26, 2013 Denver, Colo. (March 25, 2013) - The annual three-day charity bicycle ride, Death Ride Tour … Ride For Life…For Those Who Care, is back again to inspire the cycling community to ride in one of the most challenging cycling tours to support those who fight to live. The event, created by Coloradan Barry Sopinsky, was founded in 2009 and each year continues to gain support and momentum, establishing itself as one of the premier, small venue charity cycling tours in the country. Through generous support from sponsors and the hard work of the participants, the DRT has been able to raise over $100,000 for two worthwhile Colorado charities – The ALS Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Gran Fondo Added to Baker City Cycling Classic
March 26, 2013 Baker City, Ore. - The Dooley Mountain Gran Fondo follows the same challenging route that is known as the Queen Stage of the BCCC. The ride begins at Baker High School and heads south towards Austin Junction where it turns east to Unity and then sends riders towards Hereford and then up the backside of Dooley Mountain. The course is 102 miles with 5,902' of climbing. All finishers are treated to the Dooley Mountain Finish Fest. Read More

New Belgium Brewing Reveals “Tour de Fat” National Schedule
March 19, 2013 Fort Collins, Colo. – New Belgium Brewing today announced the long-awaited Tour de Fat 2013 schedule. The tour, now in its 14th year, will spin into 12 cities across the nation. This day-long festival in the park celebrates the bicycle, showcases New Belgium beers, and provides eclectic and engaging entertainment for all. The Silver Road Half Century
March 8, 2013 Georgetown, Colo. - The Silver Road Half Century is a bicycle ride for charity that will cross over Guanella Pass from Georgetown to Grant, and return on June 30, 2013. The ride will travel 48 miles along Guanella Pass Road and climb a total of 6,500 vertical feet starting Georgetown at 7 a.m. Guanella Pass Road follows the historic wagon road that linked the silver mining towns of Georgetown and Grant. Just as the miners were challenged making the trip in the 1800s, riders will experience everything from beautifully paved roads, long cruising descents and amazing scenery to steep, challenging climbs, high altitudes and sections of graded dirt road. Their journey will take them over 11,700-foot Guanella Pass, not once but twice. Read More

Fred Hutch Releases Routes for the Inaugural Obliteride
March 7, 2013 Seattle, Wash. - Routes for the 25-, 50-, 100- and 180-mile routes have just been released for the inaugural Obliteride in August 2013. The routes offer various distances and terrains so all levels of riders can participate. Obliteride is a new, annual cycling fundraiser that will accelerate lifesaving cancer research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
