Second Ascent, a specialty retail shop located in Seattle’s hip and happening Ballard community, has recently partnered up with Shimano North America to become the area’s premier Shimano Service Center (SSC).

The shop, founded in 1996, specializes in climbing gear, backpacking supplies, high quality outdoor clothing, alpine gear, bicycles, cycling specific gear and offers expert bike fit advice.

This partnership means Second Ascent has become an exclusive hub for professional service, innovative technologies and carries new-to-market products from Shimano. As an official SSC, the shop’s staff receives regular training from Shimano representatives on current and upcoming technologies. In addition, they also provide onsite warranty service, translating to their customers spending less time waiting and more time riding.

Another advantage of Second Ascent teaming up with Shimano is that the shop will have a large number of parts on hand. Staying true to their customer base, the primary focus will lean toward the SLX and XT line for mountain bike parts and 105 and Ultegra parts for the road.

Second Ascent’s bike shop manager Dave Wiktorski states, “You’ll still be able to find parts for your old reliable commuter as well as hot new gear from the new XT/XTR Trail lineup. At Second Ascent our goal is to provide top-level customer service in both sales and service. We are very excited with our new partnership and are committed to building an even stronger, more effective relationship with our customers and our community.”
